The other morning, I woke up to the sound of Abigail playing in her crib like she so often does. When I glanced at the monitor to see that she was okay (we have a video monitor), I couldn't see her anywhere. What the heck?
I wander over to her bedroom and open the door to her room only to find her standing, half bent over the crib railing. I just about had a heart attack! I had never seen her pull herself to stand before - not once. I quickly pulled her out of the crib and proceeded to hyperventillate for awhile. I then called Mike at work to tell him we were dropping her crib mattress ASAP.
Now that her mattress has been lowered and I've had some time to adjust to my little baby being able to stand (holy crap!), I took a few pictures of her doing just that:
Not only has she started to stand in her crib, but she's been pulling up on anything and everything she can find. While it's adorable, I can't help but find it terrifying that she went from crawling to standing in only a matter of a few weeks. I won't lie - I'm so not ready for this.
